Weekday Recap {5.28.11}
So today when I got out my phone to see what pictures I had taken this week, this is what found:
...that's it. The only picture I took this week was of my desk drawer at school. And why did I take a picture of the inside of a drawer? Well, did you notice how my lip balm and glue stick are right next to each other? I can't tell you how many times I've almost slathered glue all over my lips. This week I moved my glue stick to an alternative location to avoid making this mistake again.
I swear I did other, cooler things this week.
Ah well, can't win 'em all.
XOXO
[And yes, I'm still linking up with A Good Life. And you should, too!]

Favorite Things Friday: Florals
Happy Friday, Friends!
It is still Friday, right? Yeah, I'm a little late with posting this week. The time I had set aside for blogging today was instead spent on hold with AT&T. I don't want to get into that, but let me just say, their customer service is AWFUL.
Anywho, this week is all about florals! I keep seeing floral prints everywhere and I just love it. There's so many different patterns and they are all so fresh and summery. Love. Here's some of my favorites:
Hope you all have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!

Homemade Yums
After our trip to our local fruit farms this weekend I found myself with an abundance of fresh fruit. Perfect for making homemade jams.
It was so much easier than I thought it would be, and when I was done I had enough to share with my friend Betsy and my step mom.
Also, oh my gosh, this stuff is way better than Smuckers. It actually tastes like fresh strawberries. So good. I think I might need to pick up an extra loaf of bread because the one I have now is quickly disappearing.
The best part? I'm already crossing of a couple items from my summer bucket list! Makes me feel like summer is already here.

Pickin' Peaches!
This weekend Hannah and I visited a fruit farm with my friend Betsy. At first we visited Froberg's Farm in Alvin but since it is no longer strawberry season here, we had to settle on buying some already picked strawberries, that we later used to make our own homemade jams.
But we were still in a picking mood, so we headed out to Dickinson to a little fruit orchard where you can pick your own vegetables and fruits. They had all kinds of things like onions, squash, and blackberries. We decided on peaches and headed out into the fields with our bucket.
Hannah absolutely loved running around in the open fields and since there wasn't very many people around, I didn't have to hover over her like crazy. It was awesome. Hannah even got to sample a peach.
Once we had all the peaches we wanted to headed back to the front to pay. As we were leaving they let us know that they had some baby chicks that we could show Hannah if we wanted to. She was so excited and spent a good five minutes yelling at the poor chicks and scaring them away.
We had such a fun time and will definitely come back again this summer for more fun at the farm.
XOXO
P.S. Sorry for the photo dump.

Favorite Things Friday: Lovely Lemons
I've been really into lemons lately. These tart little lovelies have been sneaking their way into countless numbers of my dishes, desserts, drinks...even skin care. I just can't get enough of the fresh, bright flavor and cheery look of fresh lemon. And so, of course, my new obsession was the inspiration for this weeks Favorite Things.
Hope you enjoy!
So Fresh! Don't you just want to go get a big glass of icey cold lemonade now?
XOXO
Hope you enjoy!

Favorite Things Friday: Healthy Snacks
This week I've really been trying to get back on track with my healthy eating goals. I've been a total slacker lately and have found it super difficult to get motivated. One challenge I always face when dieting is that I love food and I want to enjoy what I eat. Salads and plain chicken everyday just will not cut it for me. So this time I've made it a focus to find lots of healthy snacks that I truly love to replace the other not-so-healthy favorites [Side note: I am not apposed to eating packaged foods, but I prefer all natural/organic if possible and I don't eat anything that has artificial sweeteners]. Here's what I found so far...
Yum! Do you have any other suggestions for me? Let me know what you are snacking on in the comments!

My First Mother's Day Gift From Hannah
When I picked up Hannah from her sitter on Friday they had this lovely little surprise for me. Isn't it pretty? It's a tile with her hand print and the little flowers in the corner are her thumb prints.
It quickly found a home in our living room on what is turning into Hannah's shelf. Every time I look at it I think of all the macaroni art, hand print turkeys, and pipe cleaner crafts that Hannah will one day bring home.
This mom thing is pretty awesome.
XOXO
P.S. The sillhouette on the shelf was another gift from Sheila, Hannah's awesome sitter. Yeah, we totally hit the babysitter jackpot.
